Why am I campaigning?
My name is Larry Linton. I am a husband, father, son, brother and child of God.
I love the Constitution, the United States of America and Tennessee!
After completing U.S. Navy basic training in Great Lakes, Illinois in 1987, I served 30 years on active duty on nuclear-powered submarines, auxiliary ships, and a surface combatant. After retiring in 2017, my wife and I put down roots in Sevierville Tennessee. We have been blessed to have our daughter and son-in-law put down their roots here as well. I own and operate my own leadership and management consulting business. Myself and my family are devoted followers of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and believe in the Christian inspired founding principles and documents that established our Constitutional Republic.
Many have asked my why am I the right change for Tennessee? I faithfully fulfilled my oath to the Constitution through the Cold War, Operations Desert Eagle/Desert Storm, and the Global War on Terror, standing in the gap between those who would do evil to our country and our liberty. After retiring, I find that those who would still do evil to our country aren’t on foreign shores, they are in the halls of an apathetically elected government and the political parties that control it. I am called to serve the Constitution again!
Liberty is both a precious gift from our Creator, and a great responsibility to preserve for our future generations. Our Constitutions, both the state and federal, are the best weapons we have in our arsenal to defend those liberties. It is time to ensure that all elected officials, from the local all the way to the federal levels, are reminded that ALL power is inherent in the people. It is also time for the people themselves to reaffirm our system of self-governance.
I will work my hardest to be the Christ-centered Servant Leader that our Founding Fathers envisioned would serve the people of this great state, and nation. I will work hard to build a strong team of my fellow patriotic residents across Sevier County to protect our freedoms for years to come. We can, and must, take a stand in the arena. We must prevail against the major political parties and reaffirm the principle that Nashville only governs with the consent of the governed – not the consent of political parties, political action committees or special interest groups.
