Friends and Family

I made it back to the homestead after a very interesting few days. First things first though. I want to acknowledge a couple of people.

First is my brother-in-law, John. This man has a heart of gold ladies and gentlemen. After working the night shift last night, he woke up to a call from my lovely bride Denise, who was quite emotional after my trusty traveling companion for the past 23 years gave up the ghost for the final time I believe. I broke down with transmission and engine electrical issues in Statesville, NC after helping my mother move into her new home in Clemmons, NC. After hearing the distress in my bride’s voice, and the unsuccessful over the phone troubleshooting with myself, he hopped in his vehicle and drove out to pick me, and the trailer I was towing, up after only two hours of sleep. Then he helped me off-load a sofa and love seat at my daughter’s house.

Speaking of the trailer, my good friend and neighbor Mike loaned me his fantastic enclosed trailer to assist with the move.

Family and friends really helped Denise and I get through this weekend and get home safely. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts. We are here to return the kindness and generosity you both have shown us.
