Picking Winners and Losers

Just going to throw this out there.

Why is the entire state of Tennessee paying for a new stadium in Nashville? Especially for a team that is worth an estimated $3.5B?

Sports economists who have studied new stadiums and the neighborhoods or businesses built around them have shown that publicly funded stadium consistently do not pay off for taxpayers as promised.

Yet here we are. Just like the federal government, elected officials are picking winners and losers in the free market. They are using our tax dollars to do it too. Instead of performing the basic function of government – to secure the peoples’ liberty – they are gambling with our sweat equity for the benefit of a few, and not every Tennessean.

If this is what you want, keep supporting the same old, same old. Or, you can take a stand in the arena this election cycle to restore government to its fundamental purpose.
